SEX CRIMES IN THE CHURCH
Thousands of children are molested in churches across the country in churches. Yes, you read that right. IN CHURCHES! And it is for this reason alone that you should have a church security team in place with their primary focus on protecting the children FIRST and then develop your security plan from here.
Anyone who does not start by protecting the children first, does not understand the seriousness of this issue. Or, they are not qualified to be in charge of the security team. Any Pastor or leader that does not agree with protecting the children first is no true leader or man of God, and that should concern you. The body of Christ can no longer ignore issues such as sex crimes against children. The Catholics face many of these claims against young boys and girls. To be very honest, too many of these crimes have been swept under the rug. As the church, it is our duty to protect the children. In fact, anyone who allows a child to be alone with anyone is not fit to serve in the youth ministry.
Children do not choose to be victims, adults DO! It is our duty to protect these innocent lives from workers that may seek to violate them. We MUST take every precautionary measure possible to prevent paid staff and volunteers from being alone with children at any time. There is no good reason for children to be behind closed doors with one person.
