Is Your Church Security Team Trained and ready?
A suspicious man walks into your church on Sunday morning. You have a bad feeling about him, but you don’t want to be judgmental or rude. So you go about your business. Moments later, he pulls out a gun and opens fire in the sanctuary. You watch helplessly as he savagely kills innocent men, women, and children. What will you do? How will you live with yourself knowing you might have stopped him but didn’t. And when the media arrives, what will you say?Sadly, most churches don’t plan for this type of horrific event until someone gets injured or killed. Many are not aware, but the church is liable for the well-being of those who are on church property this is called due diligence or due care. Because church-related violence is on the increase, many churches are now answering God’s burden to establish a safety team to provide physical protection to the flock.
Not All Church security Training is equal
When it comes to getting your church security team trained, you need to make sure that you are getting the proper training. One misconception in the training world is that just because someone has Law Enforcement or Military experience, does not qualify them to teach security for churches. Why is that? Simply because their area of expertise is not church security. Sure, they might have some good ideas about some things regarding security, but odds are they will miss some very important elements involved in protecting the church. Law Enforcement is a reactionary force. What you need is someone who can plan ahead for things you might likely face. When someone is used to reacting to situations, most likely they are not going to be great at being proactive.
Not everyone who offers church safety team training truly teaches what you need to know. Like many courses they offer, they tailor other training courses to call it “church security”. Typically, these security courses are more geared towards firearms training and active shooters, which are the least likely things you need. What we are not saying is that you do not need training in these areas. The main difference with our program as opposed to most programs being offered, is that our church security program was designed from the ground up specifically for churches.
Why would you trust someone to train your team that has zero experience in this field? Maybe it is because they have some sort of “impressive” credentials such as the FBI, SWAT, or Special Forces, etc.? How is it that someone can be an “expert” in something they’ve never done? Not all police departments get high quality training. Much of the time they get the quality of training they can afford. And, if you know anything about training, you get what you pay for. No one who is reputable or worth training with is going to be cheap. Why? Because they know that lives are at stake and the knowledge that it takes to protect lives is not cheap.
You need someone who has been on a team, and has been in-charge of a team training you. And, to our knowledge, no one other than us, is offering church security training has that experience. Our program is the standard by which all other programs are trying to achieve. Be sure to check out our instructor’s page to make sure that those who are teaching our program are certified by us to do so!
Here’s how we can help you protect your flock
We will identify the vulnerabilities of your church, establish a simple but effective safety plan, and train your team in the basics of proper mindset, situational awareness, and security tactics. Course cost: $3,500 plus travel expenses. The cost of the on-site training may seem like a lot, but what if you had to bring an entire team of say eight or ten people. More than likely you would spend at least two hundred dollars per person just for getting them here and you haven’t even touched the price of the course yet. We honestly feel that our prices are more than fair. If your church absolutely cannot afford the fees, contact us and we will do what we can to help make it happen for you.
Included: a complimentary copy of our church security video The Watchman, covering over 70 core concepts, plus team member access to our interactive virtual online training program.

You might be thinking, “That training is expensive”. However, is the money worth the 26 lives of those lost in the Sutherland, TX shooting? Proper training and being armed could have prevented this from happening. One cannot place a dollar amount on even one person’s life. Let alone, 26 lives. Never forget the old saying, “You get what you pay for”. We might not be the cheapest, but we are the best at what we do! And, not everyone who teaches church security is qualified to do so. How can someone teach you something that they have not done themselves? That is, if they’ve never been on a church security team or in charge of one. Our experts have years of teaching and being on and/or running a team. You are in the best hands you can be when you train with us!

TRAINING PACKAGE UPGRADE
Many people who are starting up a team struggle with getting trained, as well as acquiring the equipment that we recommend. What we are going to do is to offer you options to choose from to get your team up and running with as little effort on your part as possible. If you want these to be available for your training session, then we need a minimum of 30 days’ notice prior to your training date. We will invoice you for the training session fee, along with the total amount of equipment you order.
Here is a list of the basic equipment that we recommend your team has before or when we come to train. The following items are priced per item. A good handheld flashlight.
We do not make money off most of the things that we recommend that your team needs to get started. Unfortunately, we do not sell firearms, so you will need to procure those before we come. If you want a kydex holster or accessories, you will need to give us about 6 weeks lead-time to the training date. The reason for this is that you might have a gun or magazine they don’t have in stock, and it could take this long to get it in and made.
Misc Information
Please look over the course curriculum carefully. Our teaching methods are based upon the following things from having trained several thousand people over the years. First of all, we teach you simple, effective, and easily replicated techniques. Next, we are going to assume that you will never train on what you learned. Lastly, that we will never see you again. It is our experience that most teams will not train often, or at all, once they leave the training session.
We cannot predict what your church will and will not use unless you give us an idea of what you want to learn. This course covers things that you need to know, but you may not choose to use them. That does not lessen the value of the course to most people. What we teach in the two-day course is based upon over 10 years of experience of being on a security team.
The tactics we teach are what we feel is going to give a security team the best chance of dealing with an active shooter. Yes, there are other tactics out there that may be better for the highly trained person, but not for the average person who doesn’t know anything. Again, assuming that the team is not going to train like they should, we teach them a “universal” tactic.
If you have all of the above mastered, then you might want to consider our advanced training for security teams. However, we have found that the majority of teams do not fully understand or practice the information just mentioned.
